Refund and Cancellation Policy

1. Booking Confirmation

A reservation is considered confirmed upon receipt of full payment of the charter fee. Payment is made online at the time of booking through our website.

2. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of EUR 1,000 shall be collected from the client upon boarding the vessel, either in cash or by card.
This security deposit is held to cover potential damage to the vessel, equipment, or fittings, excessive cleaning costs, or outstanding fuel costs incurred during the charter.
If no such deductions are applicable, the security deposit will be refunded immediately upon disembarkation. For card payments, please note that refund processing times may vary depending on your card provider and are outside the control of Coastline Charters.

3. Fuel Costs

The charter fee does not include the cost of fuel.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the vessel is returned with fuel tanks refilled to the same level as at departure. Should the vessel be returned without a full tank, the cost of the required fuel (including refueling service charges if applicable) will be deducted from the security deposit before any refund is processed.

Estimated Fuel Consumption:
The Fjord 40 Open, equipped with twin Volvo Penta IPS 500 engines (370 hp each), typically consumes approximately:

  • 80–120 litres of diesel per hour at cruising speed (26 knots) under normal conditions.
Actual consumption may vary depending on sea state, load, and speed.

4. Customer Cancellations

Cancellations initiated by the client are subject to the following terms:

  • More than seven (7) days prior to the scheduled charter date:

A full refund of the charter fee will be issued.

  • Between three (3) and six (6) days prior to the scheduled charter date:

A fifty percent (50%) refund of the charter fee will be issued.

  • Less than seventy‑two (72) hours prior to the scheduled charter date, or in the event of a no‑show:

No refund of the charter fee shall be issued.

(The security deposit is not collected until boarding; therefore, no deposit refund is applicable in advance.)

5. Cancellations by Coastline Charters

In the event that Coastline Charters cancels a confirmed booking for operational, technical, or other justified reasons, the client shall be entitled to a full refund of the charter fee.

6. Cancellations Due to Weather or Safety Conditions

If, in the sole discretion of Coastline Charters, weather or sea conditions render it unsafe or unlawful to operate, the client will be offered the choice of: (a) re‑scheduling the charter (subject to availability); or (b) receiving a full refund of the charter fee.

7. Refund Processing

Refunds of charter fees will be processed to the same payment method used for the original transaction. Processing times may vary depending on the client’s bank or payment provider. Coastline Charters shall not be held responsible for delays caused by third‑party payment processors.

8. Amendments

Coastline Charters reserves the right to amend this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time. Any such amendments shall be effective immediately upon publication on our website.
